Nepal Humanist Forum has been launched
The Nepal Humanist Forum has been launched.
The First Forum was held at Kathmandu, Nepal, on 29 Nov 2008 as a full day event, with participation of 150 people including Organizations, Media and Personalities.
The Forum saw complete and heartfelt participation of people present there and the following Tables had very positive and participative discussions leading to concrete proposals for each area :
1. Women
2. Youth and Communications
3. Education
4. Health and Quality of life
5. Environment
6. Cultural Diversity
7. Role of Nepal in AsiaPacific.
One of the many highlights of the Forum took place when the participants were asked to endorse the World March for Peace & Non-violence. The response was a wholehearted complete and strong support for the World March for Peace & Non-violence by a resounding ovation.
Members from Australia, Bangladesh and India participated apart from those representing 10 districts/locations across Nepal.
Asia-Pacific Spokesperson of Humanism was also present on this occasion.
Contacts have been established with media (Print, Radio and TV) and this resulted in a TV announcement of the Forum. A Radio message on Peace & Non-violence has also been recorded by the “Radio Nepal” to be repeatedly broad-casted in the coming days.
